Lunch at B.B. King's in the City

Cool place to enjoy good eats and listen to B.B. King's music. There are a host of singers to come hear in the evenings but it was neat to go there just the same for lunch. This fried shrimp appetizer with mango was perfect with a cobb salad!

Upcoming guests are Keith Sweat, Sheila E, and Alexander O'Neal! Oh when to go back?? Must return within the next month!!

This baby was grilled to perfection!! Grilled medium and had a beautiful smoky flavor!

Whistling Willies in Cold Spring

Ok first off, I love that town! So cute and quaint shops up and down Main Street. Whistling Willies has great food and live music Friday and Saturday nights! My Burger was grilled to perfection! Medium! And the Cucumber Martini's were fabulous! No longer have to travel all the way up to Shadows in Poughkeepsie, although Shadows make theirs with GIN, now I can get it in Cold Springs! My friend ordered that shrimp dish, boy was it gooooooooood!!!

Traditions 118 in Somers HVRW

So for Hudson Valley Restaurant Week Stop number 2. We decided to do a little girls nite and we picked a local spot Traditions 118 in Somers. First off, when I walked in, I noticed the ambiance! It's so cozy and warm and I absolutely loved the stone fireplace that sits in the middle of the dining room. I must reserve that table next time! :-) I had looked over the menu online and already knew exactly what I was going to get. Everything was excellent, the food, ambiance and the service. We all left there very satisfied!
Great night, Great food, Great Friends!!

The martini list was very diverse. But anyone who knows me well knows... I stick to my Cosmo! For my appetizer I ordered the Calamari 118, which is Squid pan fried and tossed in marinara sauce, fresh peppers, cilantro and aged balsamic glaze. Next for my Entree, Salmon Yucca, Salmon stuffed with shrimp & crabmeat, finished with a rich champagne burr blanc, over a Yucca Potato patty and sautéed spinach! This was so tasty! All 4 of ladies ordered it and we all LOVED it! Finally, the dessert was Zeppole Puffs! served with a chocolate butterscotch dipping sauce. Oh I also took a picture of my friends dessert, which was Ice Cream Crepe. It looked so pretty I just had to take a picture! Nice way to end the delicious meal!

Hudson Valley Restaurant Week March 13'

First stop.... Ramiros 954 in Mahopac! Made same day reservations on a Friday night and the rest is history. I started the night off ordering a Sangria, which I was told was the best around. It was delicious! Then picked from the prix fix menu, Empanadas De Picadillo, which were filled with ground beef cooked with onion, garlic, pepper, olives, raisins, red wine and accompanied with sweet chipotle cream sauce. Then moved onto the main entree, Churrasco a la parrilla, which was Grilled skirt steak served over morita chile sauce, caramelized onions, green beans and white rice. For dessert, Flan de Vainilla! I'm glad I found a great place right in Mahopac that serves great Latin food!

Dave & Busters (Palisades Mall)

Fun place to eat and play arcade, carnival games and shoot pool! As soon as I saw the Mrs. Pacman arcade in the corner, this place got a High Five from me lol. I still love the old school games, so of course I played Skeeze Ball! It still reminds me of Coney Island! Best of all, I got the Eat and Play special for $18, which gets you a main course and a $10 playing card. Oh and let's not forget the Mojito's were excellent. High five to the bar!!

Krolewskie Jadlo in Queens for Polish Food

This was a first time for me trying Polish Food. I did enjoy the experience and would go back to Krolewskie Jadlo restaurant again while visiting Queens. This first dish was Stuffed Chicken with goat cheese and walnuts!

Don Coqui (My New Favorite)

Oh if you're looking for great latin food and a live Salsa band, Don coqui in New Rochelle is the place to go! It's Puerto Rico in New York! I'm a little late posting this. I've been there twice already and can't wait to go again! I tried the Paella and the Oxtails. The Paella was to die for. Every bite was perfectly seasoned. And yes, contrary to my blogs name... I DID eat those leftovers! And there was plenty of it since the portions are huge. IMO. So for that, I'm giving it a High Five!

Oxtails is something I wouldn't normally order but I wanted to try both. So a friend and I decided to order both and split it. Best decision!!! That meat just fall off the bones and is seasoned just right, served with Avocado and white rice. Perfect combination!

The Sangria was excellent! But I couldn't help notice at another table, a drink called Cadillac Margarita! I must try that next time. It had two mini bottles of Corona & an extra shot upside down in the huge Margarita goblet.
