Niko's Greek Food!

Ok, this place had the best Greek food ever! It's located on Central Ave in White Plains. I started off with (of course) a cosmo, which was perfectly made. Then they brought out fresh warm pita bread that you eat with their olive oil, which was so good! I ordered Gyro, which came with yellow rice and broccoli. Of course, what's a greek meal without ending with Baklava! So fresh! So good! Atmosphere make you feel like you were in Greece!!

New City "Caveman Burger" Wow!

OK, seriously if you've got "Caveman" hunger, go to New City diner on 202 and order their New City "Caveman Burger"!!! It's SO big, you might want to split it with someone else. Very tasty! Check it out: It consisted of 1 1/4lb Burger, Melted Monterey, Imported Parmesan & Swiss, Bacon and Indian Red Pimento, Grilled Zucchini slices, Carrot sticks on an Herb Spiced Round Crispy Bread and served with "Caveman Fries". I was SOLD after the first bite!!!!!

The Hunt for the Best Red Velvet in Westchester County (1st stop)

If you're in Pelham, please make sure you stop by Provisions! I tried both Red Velvet and Chocolate cupcake with Peanut Butter Buttercream. Both were great! The Red Velvet cupcake with Vanilla Buttercream was nice and moist! Well worth the ride down from Yorktown. They also have gluten free cookies and freshly made sandwiches and quiche!

It's about THYME!

Was very happy with my experience at Thyme in Yorktown. Didn't make reservations but we were in the area and they sat us. Love the ambiance and service! Will certainly go again!
To go with my Chianti (smile), I thoroughly enjoyed:

Jumbo Lump Crab Bites
garlic aioli
 Pan Seared Scallops over Risotto

Apple Crisp topped with Vanilla Ice Cream

The Culinary Institute of America

Yes, it certainly lived up to the hype! Italy's authentic flavors in a Tuscan Villa setting. The fixed priced menu had many choices to choose from. The bottle of Barbaresco, recommended by our waitress/student was excellent! 5 Stars!

Salted Cod Fritters

Roasted Bass, Potato, Fennel & Olives

 ....and of course... Tiramisu

Hudson Valley Restaurant Week March 14-27!

Had a blast past two weeks taking advantage of Restaurant week. All good experiences. My favorite was XO's in Yonkers! The ambiance takes the cake. Or in this case we had banana bread pudding with a rum glaze. Winning! Look to your right you see Tappan Zee Bridge, look to your left you see GWB on a clear day! With Lunch only $20 and Dinner $28 for 3 course meal, how can you go wrong? Here is what I enjoyed during those two weeks:
  • Peekskill Brewery: White Asparagus Soup, Seafood PotPie and Bourbon Stout Chocolate cake with Baileys chocolate frosting.
  • Division Street Grill! (my new love) Mixed Field Greens/blue cheese/walnuts, Roasted red peppers/Smoked Mozzarella Ravioli in a pink vodka sauce & Banana-Chocolate chunk bread pudding! Cozy local restaurant!
  • Benjamin Steakhouse: Free Valet parking, nice atmosphere. Wedge salad/blue cheese/canadian bacon bits, Grilled Norwegian Salmon and New York Cheesecake.
  • Birdsall House: Pork & fennel sausage, adirondack black wax cheddar cheese over mustard mesclun salad. Jerk Spiced shrimp skewers over collard greens, curried okra/tomato/habanero hot sauce (very spicy). Grand Marnier Almond bundt cake with Buttermilk Ice cream drizzled with orange marmalade and almond brittle.
  • XO's! Butternut Squash Bisque, Pan Roasted Chatham Cod with Sweet Basil Fregola Sardi & Wilted Arugala, Warm Banana & Walnut Bread Pudding with rum glazed bananas & vanilla bean ice cream!
I wanted to try The Woods at Hollow Brook in Cortlandt but time ran out. I wish Hudson Valley Restaurant week was a month!
